_ Page 12 + C.Ee PAGET ELECTED COMMERCE COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN A general meeting of the Commerce Commit- tee was held Wednesday evening in the Rec- reation Centre's meeting room with four members of the.Committee, J. Caccamo, J, Kelty, Wm, Louk and C.E. Paget present and one visitor, L. Waghorn, Election of officers for the 1961-62 term of office were conducted with the following results: Chairman - Mr, C,E, Paget, Vice- Chairman - Mr, J, Caccamo, Secretary Treas- urer - J, Kelty, and Directors will be J. Adamo and Wm. Louk, _ Mr. Paget reported that he had approached Kimberly-Clark and the matter of the Trailer and Camp Site was discussed. Mr. Paget was informed the Company had no further restrict- ions on this development, and he in turn, advised Reeve Ferrier of this and requested that Council take the necessary steps to implement the Trailer and Camp Site. Mr, Paget was delegated to attend the Quetico Conference for Chamber of Commerce members October 20 to 22, AFTERNOON LADIES AUXILIARY MEETS. Mrs, M, McCausland chaired the meeting Monday of the Afternoon Branch of the Ladies Auxiliary held in the Terrace Bay Community Church, Mrs. L. Crandlemire conducted the Worship period and Mrs, D. Laporte accomp- anied the opening hymn, Minutes were read by Mrs, 0, Mason and plans discussed for the November meeting. The ladies agreed to gather all old nylon knitted articles to send to Korea where they are unravelled and the threads re-used. Used Clothing and old or broken equipment of any kind will also be gathered to pack at the November meeting for shipment to the Crippled Civilians Society in Toronto, This equipment is used in teaching various skills in the | rehabilitation . program and is a very worth- while project. Anyone having articles for either of these shipments may call Mrs, McCausland or Mrs. Mason to have them picked Upe ' , ' The members spent the afternoon packing two cartons for the Childrens Aid in Schreiber and another box of baby clothes which will be sent to Mrs, Boulds for distribution aniong the Indians at her husband!s Mission at Big River, Saskatchewan. Lavender are guests this week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. He Goodfellow while attending the Anniversary Services at the Terrace Bay Community Church and renewing their many friendships in the district. Mr, Fraser Reid of Toronto and Mr. Charles Munrmery of Sault Ste. Marie were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Anderson during the past week. Norma Schock and Betty MacFadyen, nurses in training at McKellar Hospital were week- end guests at the homes of their parents, Mr, and Mrs, E. Schock and Mr. and Mrs. D. MacFadyen,. David Wheeler, who is attending Kings College Port Arthur, spent Thanksgiving week end with his parents Mr, and Mrs. N. Choptys Visitors at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Gary Galvin over the holiday weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Ge Brown, Don and Doreen of Port Arthur, Joan Hopper has returned to her studies at North Bay Civic Hospital, after a few day at the home of her parents Mr. & Mrse Ve Hoppers Bill Woodruff, seventeen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Woodruff of Terrace Bay is enrolled in school in Melville, Sask, this term, while attached to the Melville Millionnaire Hockey team, Richard Jeanneret was home from the Lakehead with his parents, Mr. & Mrs, John Jeanneret this weekend. Dick Rowson, of Slate River, spent the weekend at the home of his parents. Mr. and Mrs, E. Rowson. Myrna Crandlemire arrived from Manitouwa- dge to spend the weekend with her parents, Mr, and Mrs. L, Crandlemire. Donald Farrow spent the weekend with his family, Mr. and Mrs, A» Farrow. Janice Wills was. accolipanied home for the weekend by Miss Eileen Osler of Fort FranceSe Don Fedun of Fort William, spent the weekend at the home of his parents, Mr. & Mrs. T. Fedun,. Joan Lundberg has returned to Heron Bay, after spending the weekend with her parents Mr. & Mrse Se Lundberge Mrs, Ray Belliveau was taken to the Lakehead to be hospitalized on Friday and she is wished a speedy recovery. Dodie Burnside returned to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs, 5. Thorsteinson last month after compicting her course at the Marvel Hairdressixg School in Hamilton and on the second of this month opened her cwn shop, the Dedbie Lynn Beaucy Salon in the Linkewich Building, Terrace Bay. ART CIB News Tiere will be a painting session Thurse evening at 8 P.M, in the large meeting room, Delegates who attended the NWOAA Conference arid banouet will give their reports. The delegates were Mrs. M, Middaugh, Mr. J. Dejonghe, Mrs. S. Gaulin, who served on the 1961 executive, and Mrs. W. McKechnie representing the Terrace Bay Club. On Sunday afternoon the class enjoyed an outdoor sketching trip under the instruction of Mrs, Ann Scollie. An even- ing class was also held in the Recreation Centre. (Continued on Page 13)
