There may be, ; In the last election in June, 1959, there were two candidates for Reeve and fifteen -- for Council. Ward, was honoured by a gathering of fellow associates and friends at a special ceremony | when he was presented with his Permanent : "A" Certificate in Municipal Recreation, ' which he has earned through many years of | study and examinations, This course is sponsored by the Provincial Department of ; Education, through the University of Western | i Ontario, Mr, Dean McCubbin of the Community Pro- grammes Branch of the Department of Educa-_ tion, in' presenting this certificate to Ken, outlined the stiff requirements of this in-service training course, and commended ~ our ur Recreation Director for his high rating and excellent results attained, Mr. 'Del Earle, on behalf of the Society of Directors of Municipal Recreation in Ontario, offered his congratulations, as also did Mr, Ciiff McIntosh, Director of Quetico Conference and Training Centre, Mr. Joseph Heenan, representing Reeve Ferrier and the Municipal Council, David Wheeler on behalf of Teen Town, and members of the , Recreation Committee and Municipal Council © who were present, Since there are only twenty-seven such qualified Recreation Directors in Ontario at the present time, we may consider our- selves indeed fortunate to have the services of one of them in our community. Everybody welcome, MIXED BONSPIEL PLANNED FOR THIS WEEKEND This coming weekend a mixed Bonspiel, open to everyone, will be held on November 25th, 26th and 27th, with an evening social on Saturday, November 26th, Rinks may be enter- ed by calling Len Crockford or Jack Chapman, Curlers may invite a guest to the social if they obtain a guest card from the Men's Club Executive MEN'S CURLING STARTS NOVEMBER 28TH The Men's Club start their regular curling schedule on November 28th, Entries clcse at Noon on November 24th, This year there will be three groups in the squad curling, New curling-master brooms are available from the Trustees and lockers may be rented for $2,00. Curling fees are $30.00 per member - $15.00 to be paid at the start of the season and the remainer by January 15th, 1961.
