In the. Lake Trout Class Mr,S.Gimple of Marathon was a dual winner receiving both the Trophy and Club prize. Second place went to Mrs.G.Kuzyk and seven-year old Murray Kydd received both third prize and the prize. pre- sented to the under-fifteen group in this class, His father, Gordon Kydd was awarded fourth prize and E, Murphy of Marathon placed fifth, Henry Hermes of Terrace Bay topped the winners of the Speckled Trout Class with a 2 1b. oz, beauty while George Buhrmann, Willi Heinrich, Jerry Papousak and Bill Hanley were second, third, fourth and fifth place winners. The under-fifteen prize was won by James Brittan, an eight-year-old from Plainfield, Ill. » Special prizes were won by Mrs.G,Kuzyk, Mrs. C,.E.Paget and Bruce Young, all of Terrac Bay. Master Bert Rowson aged five was the holder of the lucky ticket and won the 13! Aluminum Car Top Boat. President of the Kiwanis Club, N,Coan, presented the prizes, assisted by J.Little, Dr.J.Whiteside and Monty Paget. A very successful Pre-Derby Dance was held in the School Auditorium on Friday night. SWIM TESTS THURSDAY MORNING Thursday morning this week all swimmers will take their final Red Cross Tests for the 1959 season, This includes swimmers in Tad-. pole, Minnow, Frog, Junior, Intermediate and Senior Classes. All tests will commence at 9 A.M. NO TESTS OR LESSONS WILL BE GIVEN . AFTER THURSDAY. THIS WILL BE THE ONLY OPPOR- TUNITY YOU HAVE TO WIN YOUR RED CROSS AWARDS, Busses will leave for the dam at 8.30 and 8.45. A.M, Final swimming classes for 1959 close this week, with final tests to be taken Thursday. For the balance of the summer, the instructor will devote his time to coaching the swimming team in preparation for the swim meets at Marathon on August 15th, Terrace Bay on Aug, 22nd and Red Rock on August 29th, Any swimmers interested in taking part in these meets end in receiving instruction for competitive swimming, should register with the Swimming Instructor NOW, This Saturday the Terrace Bay Swim Team travels to Marathon to compete in the Annual Marathon Swim Meet. A team from Red Rock will also compete. Anyone planning to attend the meet is urged to contact the Recreation Office, in the event that they could help pro vide transportation for the team, HOUSE LEAGUE SOFTBALL SEMI-FINALS BEGIN On Monday night Shift #2 clobbered the Salary team in the first game of the softball semi-finals, score Shift #2 22 - Salary 7. Salary and Shift #2 are playing a best out of three semi-final series to produce a winner to meet League leaders Shift #4, The next game in the semi-finals is on Wednesday night
