The following officers were elected: Chairman - W. Baillie; Vice-Chairman - R, Harris; Secretary-Treas. - J.K. MacDonald; Executive members - P, Romaniuk, J. Duncan, J. Dejonghe, H. Goodfellow, J. Marcella, & C. Buck. The idea behind the formation of this Fund is to eliminate some of the special drives in the mill and to provide a means whereby each employee, if he or she so desires, may contribute to charity. More details will be published later. In the meantime, your comments and suggestions are invited.. C.G.I.T. MOTHER & DAUGHTER BANQUET HELD The Schreiber & Terrace Bay groups of the C.G.I.T. combined to hold their Annual: Mother & Daughter Banquet on Monday, May 25th, in Terrace Bay's Community Church. With Terrace Bay as the hostess group this year, their President, Maryellen Reynolds, made the official welcome and introduced the guests seated at the head table. Streamers of blue and white, the C.G.I.T. colours, and pinned with carnations adorned the tables and the head table held two low bowls of peach coloured gladioli. The place- cards, which had been made by the Schreiber group, were individually decorated with Highway Signs, and a large mural on the wall, made by the Terrace Bay group, also depicted the various Highway Signs. A very delicious turkey dinner was served by the members of thd Terrace Bay Ladies Auxiliary, Donna Slater, President of the Schreiber C.G.1I.T., led the girls and their Mothers in a singsong and was accompanied by Myrna Crandlemire of Terrace Bay, Linda MacFadyen proposed the toast to the Queen and Dorothy Slater of Schreiber gave the toast to the Mothers to which Mrs. Norine Coe of Terrace Bay responded, Dorothy Slater of Schreiber was the lone girl to graduate this year and she received (Cont'd next column) TERRACE BAY NEWS NOW AS THE FOR A COMPLETE CHECK-UP ON YOUR CAR Ae ene enmemene meee ae aeeneeenenanemeen et Stata teenies na Page 7. = | C.G.I.T. Guest speaker following the banquet was Miss Marion Pogue of Port Arthur well-known to most girls as a director of the C.G.I.T. Camp at Loon Lake and from Camp Council at Lake Brereton. Miss Pogue gave a very imp- |; ressive talk on Highway Signs as related to a girl's life from early teens till the close: of life when she hoped to reach the Kingdom of Heaven, and tying in with the motifs about the hall. Mrs. John Wade, leader of the Terrace Bay girls introduced Miss Pogue and another Terrace Bay leader, Miss Alvira Wood, thanked her for her very excellent topic presented.
