HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY MEET Last Friday evening President, F.Ginn, opened the regular meeting of the Terrace Bay Horticultural Society in the Recreation Cent- er's meeting room. The Secretary, Mrs.M. | Middaugh read the minutes and correspondence, | Reports were given by committee chairmen, Mrs,.Hubelit announced she had only thirteen orders for fertilizer and was waiting for more to complete her order. Mr.Ginn mentioned the location for Test Plots had. not been selected as yet but it was | anticipated this would be accomplished over the weekend. Mr.Goodfellow told of contacting ; one of the elementary schools in regar to the | Junior Program and he anticipated having six- ty members in the group this summer. A nom- ; inal fee of Twenty-five Cents had been set | for the children and seeds had been ordered for distribution to this group. Mr.A.Farrow, Regional Director, spoke on the formation of a District or Regional group which would meet once a year and act as a District Advisory Council. Each Society would be entitled to send two representatives for every hundred members and one for each additional fifty members or part thereof, This group would further any activity in the ' District. Mr.Farrow expected the first meet- ing would be held on the day of the Fort } William Flower Show and would follow up this | event. From Pack One, under Brown Owl M,Mantey, the following Brownies had earned their wings and the right to fly to Guides: Beth Hopper, Molly McCausland, Karen Mooré,,Marcia Jeanner- et, Nancy Wade, Maryellen Little.
