The best way to gain experience in hockey is to play against stiff competition. Terrace Bay Superiors got that competition and exper- ~ience last Sunday afternoon when they met the Fort William Canadiens in their first exhibi- tion game of the season at the local Arena. The Canadiens are all hockey players and have played together for some time and so were therefore quite capable of taking the local boys to the tune of 5-4, The Superiors didn't show up too well in the first two periods but came back in the third to pen the Canadiens in their own zone and come near to tieing the game after over- coming a 3-goal deficit at the beginning of the period by two. The new faces appearing with the club this season seem to be fitting in real well, and figured in all the scoring done by the Superiors this game. Cruise of Superiors opened the scoring at 4:42 of the first period, but the lead was short-lived when Canadiens Goyda netted at 6:21. Simoneau evened the period for Superiors when he took a pass from Osmar at 19:33, Fort William didn't have much trouble in the second period increasing their lead by 3 goals. Mork & Olney again clicking at 3:10 and then making way for Isbell & Sawicki to score ac 12307 (and apain:at. Losd44, Superiors came back hard in the final period to beat Canadiens' Backen twice and hold the Forts scoreless. Diduck scoring with Simoneau & Desrosiers at 7:25 and Calder with Blom and Lindquist at 12:33. Summary - lst period - Canadiens 6:21, Goyda unassisted; 12:13 Mork - Olney.
