The contest is set up very simply. Departments will be competing only against their own previous experience, A par has been established for each depart - ment for each month, July through December, Basis for determining the par has been a * LO point charge for all. doctor care cases and a 50 point charge for each lost-time accident. (The same point system will be used to calculate monthly scores of depart- ments during the contest.) Par in each instance represents a 5-year average, Zarnings will be built up by units 1. A credit .of-10¢-per man when a unit betters its monthly par, .- 2. A bonus of 5¢ per man when a unit betters its par by 50%. _ ao 3. A bonus of 5¢ per man when a unit betters its 6-month par by 50%, 4. A bonus of 50¢ per man to the unit showing the best percentage improvement during the 6-month contest period, d« A bonus of 25¢ per man to the unit showing the 2nd best percentage improvement during the 6-month contest period, (cont'd next col.) ee ee pe See Se A Pog Safety Contest (cont'd) : : There will be a penalty of 25 points charged to any unit wherein a man fails to © report any accident, no matter how slight, . Prize money collected by each unit may be spent in any manner decided by the unit safety committee. Money shall not be distri- buted.
