Switched to Fort William Hurricanes in the Jr, A, circuit at the Lakehead, Joined our club in 1954. Has. had a try-out with Detroit Red Wings and has had an offer to play semi pro with Troy (N.Y.) A real rugged individual on the ice and a very likeable fellow off the ice. . He gives his all in every game and it is only his style of play that seems to catsh- the referees eye at the wrong time - "Was noted the most valuable player on the 'Superiors! in 1954" - A great year lies ahead for this young Defence Warrior. REG PAYETTE (DEFENCE) Born in Schreiber in 1928 played nearly all his hockey there from Bantam to intermediate, Did a hitch in the R.C.M.P. Came to us in 1950 has always played. Defence, Not a rugged player, but loves to play the game as it should be played. Doesn't seem to have a killer instinct, and possibly it is a good job because he is guite a large fellow.' He had a good year last year, and is always in good shape, This year looks_like another good one in our books for Reg. JIM MORO (FORWARD) ~ Born in Fort William in 1934. (Single) started hockey with Fort Willian midgets at 15 years of age. Jumped to Juvenile and finally to Fort William Hurricanes in the Jr, A. circuit. Played Juvenile hockey in the Lakehead then played with Fort William Canadiens and North Stars in the Junior A Circuit in the Lakehead. Has been a stand-out here since joining us. in 1954... He has a very canny knack in puck control and play making. He was a leading contender last year for scoring honors, when one injury jinx hit him and sidelined him for four games, Up till then he was averaging three points per game, On his seasons play to date he has showed great hockey ability and great things are expected of him this year. In the first game which they lost 8-6 the Terrace Bay team received terrific. body punishment by a style of rugged hockey which is not usually seen in minor hockey in the Lakehead district. The closeness of the score was due to Terry McInnis outstanding net minding, This boy did a superb job in the nets and was cheered time and time again by the fans for his fine efforts.
