RECREATION FLYER The opening of the Arena for children took place on Wednesday, October 26th, at 3:30, Just about every boy and girl who could carry skates was down here to their big skate of the year, The Arena schedule will be posted weekly on the back of the Terrace Bay News and on the notice board in the Recreation Centre. Please note the schedules times fof all the various act- ivities that will concern you. FIGURE SKATING CLUB On Friday afternoon at 2:15, there will be an open meeting for all parents whose children will be figure skating this year, in the large meeting room of the Centre, At this meeting we will elect our coming executive for the Terrace Bay Figure Skating Club. We are very pleased to inform all parents that Mrs. Ivy Pattison again will be our Club pro. for the coming year. SENIOR MEN'S VOLLEY BALL . We would like to invite you to come out to our night's fun, Each Monday night at 8:30 we meet in the High School Gymnasium. SENIOR MEN'S BASKET BALL Every Thursday night we are holding practises at 8:30, beginning this week, There will be no Saturday morning practises, We are in hopes of having a Lakehead team down in a couple of weeks, We could use you as a player if you are interested, LADIES TUMBLING CLASS Since there does not seem to be a need for this Gym group, there will be no further Tuesday night sessions until a time when the need is.more apparent. PROJECTOR OPERATORS! COURSE Tuesday night was our last instruction session. On Thursday, October 27th, .at 7:00, there will be a test.to qualify the participants as operators,. WEAVING AND SMALL CRAFTS DEMONSTRATION We hope to have your response by attending a demonstration of weaving and small crafts which will be presented on Friday, November 4th, at 8:00 pim. Miss Muff will be coming to our town on this date. The Community Programmes Branch, which is a branch of the Department of Education, makes this demonstration in our town possible, but only by means of your request. So please call the Recreation Office and signify your inter- est. This is a demonstration and display only - no instruction course in involved, SEASON SUBSCRIBERS! HOCKEY TICKETS On Friday, October 28th, there will be a "first come, first served" for seats for hockey games in the Arena. He will have the authority to put any person off the ice or out of the Arena who does not conform to our rules and regulations for skaters or bystanders in the Arena, 1. No skate changing on seats. 2. No smoking or carrying anything on the ice that if dropped could cause an accident, 3. There will be no figure skating allowed during public skating, such as people skating doing spirals, etc, Accidents can happen to both performer and the public, (Cont, on page 10)
