TERRACE BAY ARENA FIGURE SKATING SHOW - FANCY COSTUME PRIZES KIDDIES RACES BANTAM HOCKEY GAME Children Free Adults .25¢ 0-0-0 ATTENTION ALL FIGURE SKATERS A rush trip was made to the Lakehead last Saturday to pick up costume material for the forthcoming Figure Skating Cam- | ival, to be held on March 19th, at 1:30 pem. in conjunction with the Kiwanis Jvarnival, Three sets of costumes were also rented from the Port Arthur Thunder Bay Figure Skating Club and are now on hand, By the time you read this, most of you will have already received the material for your costume, As mentioned in previous issues of the "News" it will be necessary for the Club to charge for the cost of this material and the prices for the various costumes will be as follows: Kittens, Teddy Bears, Eskimos, Snowmen, Penguins, and Icicle costumes will all be $2.00 each, After this figure skating presentation, the above costumes will then become the property of the skater, With regard to the rented costumes for the Ballet, Jazz and Zing-A-Little Zong, there will be a charge of $1.00 to help defray the cost of carnival expenses, ' This costume fee is to be brought to the rink this coming Saturday to Betty Austin. This is very important as we have financial obligations to meet at the Lakehead, All Skaters must be in attendance at all rehearsals as listed below if we want this, our first carnival to be a success: f (Cont. on next col,) Page 10 ATTENTION ALL FIGURE SKATERS Thursday, March 10th - 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 12th - 12:45 - 2:00 p.m. (Note-all skaters must be at the rink ready to go on the ice at 1:00 p.m. sharp as we only have one hours practice time on this date, Tuesday, March 15th - 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 17th- 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 18th - 6:30-8:00 p.m. (DRESS REHEARSAL) For Dress Rehearsal, all the Kittens Teddy Bears, Eskimos, Snowmen, Penguins and Icicles are requested to wear their 'costumes to the rink in order to avoid congestion in the dressing rooms, This will also apply on Saturday, the day of the Carnival. All skates and laces must be clean for both Dress Rehearsal and the actual Carnival on Saturday. If skate laces are broken or knotted, please see that new laces are substituted, ' After the rehearsal this Saturday, all those in the Jazz, Zing--A-Little Zong and the Ballet will go to the Post Office Basement directly across the street from the rink to try on and be fitted for the rented costumes, We »eoquire several mothers to help with the fitting of these costumes, so if you are free, please come along to the Post Office and give us a hand, and bring s needle and black and white thread, On the day of the Carnival, Saturday, March 19th, all skaters must be at the-rink at 12:45 p.m. Friday night after the Dress rehear- sal, the Eskimo costumes will be taken to the Post Office Basement to apply white trimming to the costumes, All costumes must be ready for Dress rehearsal with no exceptions. The Carnival is shaping up nicely, and your full co-operation in the above requests would be appreciated. 0-0-0 HOUSE LEAGUE HOCKEY Wednesday, March 9th the semi-final game was another of good hockey but the score was a different story. In the first period Janicki scored two goals unassisted and assisted Stortini in another one for the Tigers then to make itlook a little better Waghorn made one assisted by Newton.
