em a eee e ss aoaeneereenee beecneneees CONCERT SERIES 7 Those who attended the Board of scucation Concert held in the High School suditorium on February 23rd felt the evening was very refreshing and well-worth attending, The tenor, Manfred Stier, was of special interest to all members of the Local Men's Chorus who expressed..apprecia- tion.of his wide vocal range. Mr. Stier was most pleasing fin his encore, "Women are Fickle", ' Miss 'Angela Antonelli having started her training at a very early age with her father, was extremely well-polished in her performance in all types including Mozart's Alleluia and Love is Where You "Find It. Both as a soloist and accompan- ist, more could not be desired of Miss Edith Meek, Her presentation of Beethoven's Allegro Vivace and Chopin's Waltzes Op, 69, Nos 1 and Op, 42 were superb. Miss Andre Hanson of Kenora, was the surprise of the evening. Only sixteen years of age, she had been called upon suddenly to replace the violinist Miss Marion Northrop due to an accident. Already poised and polished, she was an excellent accomp~ anist for several of Miss Antonelli's numbers, as well as giving a vivacious interpretation of Brahm's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 6 and Rimsky-Korsakcv's Tarantella, It is hoped that we can encourage a repeat of this series next year by a mere wide-spread interest in Terrace Bay of good music, Contact any member of the committee should you wish to subscribe to the 1955-56 series, Page 3 BADMINTON NEWS The Schreiber club has extended an invitation to all members of our club to attend a social night on Friday, March 4th, If you wish to partake, be at the local high school at 7:30 Friday evening with your shoes and racquets, Transportation will be provided, RECREATION FLUE in this issue is some~ what confused because of the possibility of our team getting in the finals.
