The old reliable Ross Brothers for Schreiber accounted for 3 goals - Borden getting one and Keith 2 while Souliere scored twice and Figlio- meni and Cosgrove each got ones For Terrace Bay the line of Moro, Osmar and Diduch accounted for all the goals with 2 to Howe and Osmar and one to Diduch, Cataford in the Schreiber nets was a standout. while Stachiw and Payette... stood out for Terrace. (Cont. on next col, 2 Page & NORTH SHORE HOCKEY NEWS (Cont) Paced by the Mannila brothers with a goal each and 3 assists the Nipigon Flyers easily defeated the Terrace Bay Superiors 6-1 before a crowd of 540 Sunday afternoon in Nipigon, The first period saw the Superiors get their only goal - Osmar from Moro. In the second period the Flyers scored twice - G. Mannila from H. Mannila and Tretiak and H,. Mannila from Tretiak and Lespi to end the scoring for the period. In the third period the Superiors fell apart both offensively and defensively with Nipigon scoring 4 goals - 3 of them in four minutes as follows: Dupuis from Huntus and Oja Dunnville from H, Mannila and C. Mannila Dupuis from Ward and Skabar Penziwald from Kotzma Officials Ross and Tremblay handed out 7 penalties 4 to Terrace Bay and 3 to Nipigon,. Tuesday night at the Terrace Bay Arena Marathon defeated the local club 7-2 in a fast and exciting contest. Both teams played a hard game with 10 venalties being awarded to Marathon and 8 to Terrace Bay including a 10 minute misconduct to Osmar. with Bond collecting 4 penalties while for Marathon - Pearson, Henderson, and Seppala each had 2 penalties. Marathon opened the scoring in the first period Souther from Charyna and Amadeo and Pearson unassisted. For Terrace Moro scored from Osmar for et only goal of the period, In the second period Terrace was unable to 'beat McMorland in the Marathon nets while Weaver for Terrace was beaten 3 times - Kosolowski unassisted - 5 Amadeo from Charyna and Henderson ' and Morgan from Molinski.
