He began work for the LongLac Pulp and Paper Co. in September 21, 1951. He came to Canada, in June 1947 from Poland. Stan acted very nonchalant about his big win, in fact he remained for the business part of the meeting which did not conclude until 11:00 p.m. Apparently he had won draws on raffles before - five or six small ones, Maybe Stan should now try for the Irish Sweepstakes, Stan did not have a car at the time of his win, he intends keeping it, and enjoying a 1954 Bel Air for the great sum of ten dollars}} Ed Cavanaugh then conducted the business portion of the meeting. Ed Cavanaugh submitted the President's report on last year's activities. He reminded everyone how fortunate the residents of Terrace Bay were in having a first class Arena available for hockey next winter. But Mr, Cavanaugh stressed to the fathers of the young boys who had yet to learn to skate or play hockey, that skaters and hockey players were made on the outdoor rinks, The parents then were urged to have small outdoor rinks in the backyards and to get the boys started early in developing our future hockey talent. The Chairmen of the various Leagues presented reports, Ray Kenney of the Minor League, Alex MacDonald, House League, Alex Chisholm, North Shore League, Each report indicated a successful year, Paul Boudreau submitted the Treasurer's report which indicated how costly it was (Cont, on Page 3) 230 P.M.
