However be- fore the period ended Marathon pushed in two goals to make it 2-1. This first period was very fast considering the softness of the ice, The middle period saw both teams trying hard and Marathon finally made it 3-1. Pete Diduch from Ed Seponary at 9:03 gave the Superiors another goal, and the Mercurys scored once more before ay end of period making it 4-2, The Superiors went sik for the last period determined to tie the game up and at 5:52 Harl Knight, from Burke Trowsse and Johnny Cavanaugh, hit the twine for goal number 3, Then Johnny Cavanaugh tied up the game at 6:13 and the crowd went wild. Both teams were playing hockey both ways and the score remained tied until 16:20 when the Mereurys got another, The Superiors really went to work then and the puck hit the Marathon goal posts and cross bar but it would not go in, and so the final score was 5-h.
