TEN PIN CHATTER Checkryn's Royals have gained 1st place in the current Ten Pin race, They garnered this spot by humbling the Over- heads 3 to 1 in a hard fought contest in which Coupal of The Royals and Borsum of The Overheads led the scoring respect--- ively with games of 487 scratch. Coupal's 189, 154, 144 with Adamots 163, 168, Malashewskits 157, & 153 and Checkryn's 158, and 143, and Hack Freeman's 146 stopped the powerful Overheads, Borsum's 178, 158, 151 Shirriffts 167, and 144 with Rowlandson's 149 & 142 with Porter's first game tally of 150 could not stop the thundering Regals. Chopty's Firebugs came through in fine style to gain a firm grip on second place by defeating Pattison's Bears 3 to 1 in a contest that found the Bears pull- ing their only point of the evening out of: the fire by a scant 3. pins, Bild Day paced the Firebugs with his scores of 153, 156, 166, (475) while Chopty received able support from Ruzyski's 158, & 165 games, as Shubaly's pair of 146's proved too much for the Bears, Favourable Bear tallies were Weppler's 160, Clifford's 153 Patti- son's 142 & 147 with Ray Stachiw finding the range for a 409 scratch series, Lindskoog's Engineers proved that they will be tough contenders in the Play-offs as they rolled the nites hi scoring with 224.7 seratch as well as the With-Handi- cap Hi of the eve of 2703. Alver rolled the Hi scratch series for the session with 213, 182, 169 (564) and he received ample support from Williscroftts 160, Thompson's 162 (207) with-handicap, Gombolats 158, 146, and Don Boudreau's second game marker of 143. Sechesky's 3 man team could not oppose the thundering Engineers and Doug Harris' 165 game along with Todd's 146 were the only commentable tallies put forth by the B Bts, Marsh's Warehouse Five humbled the Shift #1 Quintet 3 to 1 in the closest contest of the nite, The best Warehouse tallies were Graham's 157, 149, 156 (462) Marsh's 179 marker and Swirhunts 408 scratch series.
