TEN PIN CHATTER The Bears and the Warehouse fought to a two-all tie last night and this enabled the Bears to hold their first place lead by a scant 1 point. Bears best efforts were turned in by Veitch with a snappy 174, Ray Stachiw 164, Heenan 164, Ted Stachiw was the best marksman for the Warehouse with a 160 while Swirhun's 148 and 145 with Harl Knight's 146 and 150 made it a battle down to the wire and when the smoke cleared the pin count was decided in favour of the Bears by the slim margin of 23 pins. . Checkryn's Royals have held their 2nd place and are just one notch down from the league leading Bears,.-.The Royals trounced Sechesky's B B's 3 to 1 in a New Pin vs Old Pin Contest whose final game went to the Royals by 1 pin, Leon led his men to vict- ory with his hi games of the night 159, 190, 149 (498) and he was aided by Coupal with 173, Plutats 164 and 151, and Adamo's 156 with Malashewski'ts only game of the evening 157. Buck paced the B B's with 165, 139, 156 (460) while Capt. Sechesky came through with 161 and 166 (455). Ed sho's series of 150, 146, 153 (449) with Doug Harris's 169 and 154 just couldn't stop the thundering Royals, Borsum's Overheads trounced the last place Engineers 4 to 0 in a contest that once again found Bob Shirriff leading the scoring with games of 154, 170 and 171 (495). Rowley's first game of 170 (460) and Faust's 167 (449) stopped the Engineers cold, Don Boudreau led the Engineers with 157, 141, WA (442), Lindskoog faced his men in high game tally with his first marker of 185, but received poor support from the rest of his boys as they bowed to the powerful Over- Heads, Choptyts Firebugs dropped a 3 to 1 dec- ision to Whitfieldts Shift #1 gang ina dramatic contest that found Diduch leading the scoring with 160, 152 (434) for the Shift #1 team while Chopty received great support from Jim St. Louis with his tallies of 149, 148 (411). Len Pineault found the range for a dandy 165, and Garry Galvin's second game of 164, with Whitfield's 155 lead the Shift #1 Fivers to victory, Chop- ty's second game of 164, along with Ruzyski's 160 were other commendable tallies but could not stop the mighty Shifters. President Bill Baillie called the meeting to order at 8:20 PM, Although the attend- ance was a little disappointing a very successful meeting was held, The President, reporting for the Board of Directors, rep--- orted a very successful' year as did the Credit Committee and the Supervisory Commi- ttee, John Jessop, Jim Corrigan, Jim Row- ley and Alex Sinkins were new members elect- ed to the Board of Directors, Archie Driffield to the Supervisory Committee and Ken MacKay to the Credit Committee.
