TEN PIN CHATTER Pattison's Bears are still holding the lead by a scant 2 point margin as the 2nd last game of the current quarter was rolled off last night. In a do-or-die contest with Chopty's Firebuegs the Bears salvaged a two- all tie to enable them to retain first place position, Ray Stachiw led the scoring for the Bears with 145, 170, 124 (439), while Capt. il gave his all with 138, 144, 137 (419), Shubaly's games of 127, 145, 170 (442) along with Ed Niemits 143, 141, 124 (408) were the stand-out performances by the Fire- bugs. Ruzycki'ts 136 and 145 along with Chopty's 152 and Maurstad's 149 were the other favourable.tallies turned in. Checkryn's Royals have rolled their way into 2nd spot by taking the Overheads to Camp to the tune of 3 to 1 in a contest that saw Pluta lead the way for the Royals with his games of 143, 151, 144 (438). Adamo was the second best gunner as his tallies of 133, 133, 163°(429) indicate, Other stellar marks were Coupal 165, Hack Freeman 145, Malashewski 152 and Capt. Leon 141, Bob Shirriff has once again led the Overhead ' scoring with games of 138, 177, 158 (473), and Borsum's 168, 161, Olson's 168, Ostling's 142 made it a battle down to the wire, Whitfield's Shift #1 gang humbled the mighty Warehouse Five 3 to 1 in an action- packed effort that saw Leonard Pineault lead the scoring with his handy games of 122, 167, 172 (462),-Capt. Whitficld came through wi th 136 and 186 while Diduch's 154, MeKay's 141, and Galvin's 136 proved the undoing of the hse. Teddy Stachiw led the Warehouse with 170, 143, 157 (470) and the . other commentable tallies were Swirhun 141, Marsh 141 and Graham 136, Sechesky's B B's and the Engineers fought to a 2-2 tie in a contest whose third game was decided by 2 pins, Don Boudreau . turned in the Hi Scratch game and series of the evening with games of 200, 154, 168 (522), while Lindskoog became runner-up with his tallies of 147, 195, 178 (520). Willis- croft added his supporting games of 151 and 160 (436) while Willy Louk's 406 series aided the cause. Buck led the way for the BB's with games of 152, 169, 189 (510), and Smilsky turned in a Starring performance with 165, 174, 151 (490). Sechesky's 445 _ series with shots 440 and Whitley's 442 made it one of the highest scoring ecntests ofthe evening. H, Hales rolled a nice 242 for the high single this week and Olyve Harrison led the pack for high triple with 612, C0. Buck took the honours for high single (300) and high triple (720) this week, The Sitches made it a family affair for the honour scores this week, Grace with a 60 and Charley 74. Other good scores rolled were C, Sitch 253, D. Harris 2h, C, Hawkins 208, R. C. Jones 26k, J. Corrigan 213, 200, R. Biesenthal 206, ao R. Day 203, 0. Harrison 210; 225 (612), Middaugh 256.
