CURLING CLUB BANQUET A grand climax to the 1950-51 curling season was the ennual banquet and rarty held on Saturday evening, Avril 28th. The banquet, featuring a chicken dinner, was held at Hotel Terrace, with 135 curlers and guests in attendance. Awards of trophies were made as follows: Men: Grand challenge event, carrying the Annual Hudson's Bay Tropvhy and miniatures, won by Skip Gordon Dodge, Along with the tronhies, Hudson's Bay also generously awarded four Toastmasters to the lucky rink. Jack Johnson made the rresentation on be-~ half of the Bay. Runner-up was Skip Rune Ostling. CONSOLATION EVENT and runner-up went to Skips Jack Wellings and Harold Marsh resrectively. CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT went to Ed Pineault again this year. His rink was rresented with the Imrerial Bank Trophy by Newt. Pugh, Imperial Bank Manager. The four individual trovhies awarded by the Bank for the event did not arrive in time for the banquet. In addition, the Club Champions received 1 Suede Jacket, Hot Plate and Thermos Jug, Fishing Rod and Reel, and @ Snort Shirt, compliments of Longlac Pulp and Parner Co.; Geo, Knowles Ltd.; Dominion Catering and Terrace Meat Market. Runners- up, Third and Fourth were skins Thor Olsen, Rune Ostling and Gordon Dodge resnectively. The MIXED CURLING CHAMPIONSHIP went to Jack Johnston's rink, with skins Newt Pugh end Jim Duncan tied as runners-un, Ladies: Winners of the Club Championship skirped by Barbara Haughn were awarded the Hudson's Bay Trorhy along with individual trophies end Kenwood Blankets, comrliments of the Hudson's Bay Co, Runner-uv, Third and Fourth went to Erla Pugh, Peegy Wellings and Jan Faust respectively. CLUB BONSPIEL carrying the Seagram's Trophy and individual trophies went to Erla Pugh's rink. Present- ation was made by Mr. Joe Lesser, Seagram's representative for this district. Runner- up went to skip Barbara Haughn. Consolation Event and runner-up went to skips Dot Shrier and Betty Jessop respectively. Prior to the Banquet, the large array of prizes was on display in the lobby of the Hotel, and at this point, we would like to take the ovportunity of thanking each and every donor for their generosity.
