Persons who go fishing or camping and have reason to light a fire should exercise extreme care and be certain thnt every ember is out before leaving a fire. Motorists are cautioned against throwing lighted matches, cigar om ecigarotto butts or pipe ashes from car windms, And parents too are urged to explain to children that playing with matches or lighting fires of any sors is a dangerous prac- tice, With everyone co-operating we can be free from the ravages of fire, o-0-0 DOMINION DAY CELEBRATIONS SUCCESSFUL The Dominion Day Celebrations at Terrace Bay ON Ma ue es On eae nn, sponsored by the Can-dian Legion, Local 665 and St. Martin's Men's Club proved to be a real drawing card and much ciedit is due to those who worked so hard to make it a success. Starting shortly after 1:30 p.m. at the Ball Park events included races for chil- dren and adults with a softball game climaxing the afternoon activities which saw Harry Ganja's Terrace Bay Comets defeat John Holancin's All Stars by a 1311 score. After supper there were boxing matches at the Ball Park followed by a dance in the Recreation Hall, Throughout the afternoon and evening refreshments weve sold and games operated in the curling rink, All in all it was a splendid effort on the part of the sponsoring organizations and everyone will be looking forward to a repeat performance, o~-9=0 AN IMPORTANT MESSATE During the recent shutdown, Cal Harvey, Pipefittor Foreman, - ffered severe in- ternal injuries when he took a drink from a wash-up hose. At the time, the mill water supply was off and somehcw caustic had backed up into the hose line, During and immedi- ately following shutdowns in a chemical pulp mill such as ours, care should be taken to be sure that only water is coming from wash-up hoses. And too much emphasis cannot be placed on the importance of drinking only from drinking fountains since they are on an independent water system, NEVER AT ANY TIME SHOULD ANYONE DRINK FROM A WASH+UP HOSE,
