TIONS PLANNED FOR TERRACK BAY A meeting was held at Wilf Ogden's, 169 Birch Crescent, on Tuesday, April 19th, to discuss the organization of a Boy Scout Troop and Cub Pack at Terrace Bay. Attending the mecting were Herman Roberts, Bob Kemp, H. Hall, Geo. Maitland and Wilf Ogdene Wilf Ogden, on behalf of the Terrace Bay Branch #223, Canadian Legion, advised the gathering of the sponsorship of a Scout organization and pledged support of the Canadian Legion in their timely and worthwhile endeavours. It was decided to write the Provincial Scout Association in Toronto and also the District Association in Fort William, advising them of this movement and request the necessary guidance, preparatory to asking for a charter. 4 further meeting was called at the above address for Wednesday evening, April 27th, when a Scout committee will be organized to carry on the work, It is expected that replies from Toronto and Fort William will have been received by that date. Any and all interested persons and particularly parents of potential Scouts or Cubs are asked to contact any of the above and are also cordially invited to attend the next meeting, 7:45 pem. Other officers elected for the coming season were: Vice-President,.Jack Hamer3 Secretary, Ann Wallie; Treasurer, George Ferrand, and Executive member, Marg S, oreye Grounds Committee Chairman will be Keith Adams, The Executive plans to make every possible effort to put the courts in shape for an early start and the question of lighting the courts for night play and completing the fencing around the courts are receiving serious consideration. in effort will also be nade to provide a Club House. Membership fees for thc coming season have been set at $7.00 per couple, $5.00 for single membership, and $1.00 for children 16 years of age and unter. Memberships may be obtained from any member of the new executive as well as some club members who are working in the membership drive or at the Hudson's Bay Store. o-Owo SCRAP WOOD AVAILABLE FREE Wood from the scrap pile near "Blueberry Hill" just east of the mill is available to all employees free of charge. Employees, however, must do their own hauling.
