Page 3 PASSENGER FARES TO BE REDUCED ON RAILWAY DURING COMING HOLIDAY SEASON With the Christmas and New Year holiday season only a short month away, we have been requested by Bob Hales, C. P. R. Station Agent at Terrace Bay to bring to the attention of everyone that special passenger fares will be in effect during the coming festive season. Some 1500 passengers left Terrace Bay last year during the Yuletide Season and although many did purchase their tickets and arrange for reservations early, a large number weited until the last minute, with the result that some persons had to line up for two hours to purchase tickets, and it was necessary for some to board trains and purchase tickets from conductors, in which case regular fares are cherged. \ Tickets at the reduced rate may be purchased now for use during the coming holiday season at the C. P. R. station and reservations can also be made at any time. Between all stations in Canada the fare for the general public will be regular one way coach, or first class fare plus one-half, for the return trip. Going dates at the above rate#-December 21st, to 12 o'clock noon January lst. Return limits-leaving destination not later than January 3rd. A special rate has also been established for teachers and students, and tickets may be procured in this catagory on surrender of C. P. A. form 18 or 18F, School Vacation Certificate. Going dates+-December 15th, to 12 noon January lst. Return limit+-Lleaving destination not later than 12 o'clock midnight January 10th. Fares for teachers and student s#+-regular one way coach or first class fare plus one-quarter for the return trip. In all instances tickets are good only for continuous passage. , 0-0-0 JUST A HABIT Some people develop a habit of always stepping on a discarded: cigarette butt E even if it is the other fellows and while in some respects it may seem a little "kiddish" to people who see an individual zigzag out of his way to "stomp" on a buth whether it appears to be burning or not, maybe such a habit will prevent a fire sometime. We're not hinting that everybody ought to be a cigarette "stomper" but someone may get the spark of an idea to be more watchful for fire hazards of all kinds and especially hazards caused by smokers. i inery ever smoke where it might be dangerous and particularly where the rules say "No moking." wo smoking is allowed, be sure you extinguish matches and cigarettes before discard ing them. It is also important to report immediately any indication of electrical defects--blown fuses, overheating or unusual arcing. Safety containers should always be used for flammable liquids, and covered metal cans for rubbish and oily rags. When welding or cutting, observe all safeguards. Fire exits, fire extinguishers or sprinkler he&ds should: never be blocked with material of any kind and if a fire extinguisher has to be used, take a moment and make sure you are using the proper type. Better still, learn the proper type of extinguisher to be used on any particular type of fire. is Observance of rules regarding fire prevention can become "just a habit"--but maybe "just a habit" will prevent a fire sometime, a--0-0 CLASSIFIED ADVERTISING .
