Strutt, Secretary-Treasurer, The Corporation of The Improvement District of Terrace Bay. o~O0-o IT COULD HAPPEN AT TERRACE BAY Last week, a flash bushfire seriously threatened the townsite of Pine Portage, just 75 miles away, where a new power praject is under construction. Before 300 workmen and 13 bulldozers had brought the fire under control, it had spread to within half a mile of the settlement. It is reported that a slight increase in the wind at the time would have brought devastating results to a greater part of the project. We should all learn a lesson from the fact that the fire is believed to have been started by a lighted match carelessly thrown away by a workman.
