Double-Header at Port Arthur The Terrace Bay All Star Girl's team, coached by George Reid, journeyed to Port Arthur last Sunday for a return double-header with Rockettes who are at present leading the Lakehead Ladies' League. Dressed in smart new blue and white uniforms the local girls again gave a good account of themselves despite the loss of both games, In the first 7 inning contest, Terrace Bey, down 18-13 going into the 7th, scored 10 runs before the first half of the inning ended, only to drop the game Ror ee when Rockettes put on the pressure with a 4 run splurge. Game with Schreiber Called Off Terrace Bay hardball fans were disappointed last Sunday afternoon when Schreiber was unable to field a team for an exhibition game, In three previous encounters this season with the experience? Schreiber club, the newly formed local aggregation had gone down to defeat in the first two encounters but had taken Schreiber on their own sandlot in a game played July Ist by an 11-5 score, There are reports to the effect that due to a number of reasons Schreiber may not be able to field a team during the balance of this season, and this will be a further dis- appointment to 'Local players and fans as there are no other hardball teams in the immediate vicinity. Men's Softball Executive Meeting At a mecting of the Men's Softball Executive held in the Personnel Office on Tuesday evening July 13th a number of important matters related to the current operation of the club were discussed. One of the most important decisions reached releted to umpires and it was agreed: that cach team would name an umpire in addition to non-playing umpires who already have performed _ yeoman service. It was also decided that behind the plate umpires would be paid $2.00 and base umpires $1.00 - from collections teken at the games, With respect to the Comets-Alkies game which had been protested, the executive ruled that the game would be replayed on Thursday July 15th at Terrace Bay Ball Field.
