In numerous homes supper was hurried through - dishes were left - and in a number of instances children were to be allowed to stay up long past their regular bedtime. Shortly after 6:30 p.m, the sound of automobile horns could be heard throughout the Townsite as drivers picked up their prospective "loads", From houses came "people" carrying "things" - boughs of trees on which delicately fashion- ed pastel shade crepe paper blossoms had been affixed - drapes - curtains - tools etc, Well before 7:00 p.m. the vehicles converged on the Recreation Hall and occupants hurried into the building "to lend a hand". By 7:30 everything was in readiness - drapes and curtains in place - the forty-eight foot stage had been erected and decorated and behind the scenes models for the gala event were preparing for their "big moment", Terrace Bay was set for the staging of its first Spring Fashion Show, On hand to direct behind-the-scenes activities was Fashion Coordinator Doris Hollings- head, from Hudson's Bay Cempany, Winnipeg, through whose courtesy the Spring Fashion Show was made possible. The Ladies' Auxiliary of the Terrace Bay Community Church sponsore: the affair. Shortly after 8:00 p.m. the hall began to fill as Ellen Hodgkiss commenced a piano recital. Mrs. Hodgkiss also provided appropriate background music during the Fashion Show. By 8:30 between 350 and 400 persons had assembled including 50 visitors from nearby Schreib: and a goodly number of men. Promptly at 8:30 p.m. hall lights were dimmed, spot lights brought into play and the show began with Miss Virginia Covington in the role of commentator, Virginia incidentally, did a marvellous job throughout the entire show as narrator. Naturally the "long look" was featured throughout and in all thirty-eight separate ensembles were shown ending in a wedding scene during which Miss Shirley McCuaig of Schreiber sang "0 Promise Me", Following the Fashion Show light refreshments were served by a committee convened by Mrs. F. 0. Soughton with Mrs. C. E. Paget, Mrs. A. Christensen, Mrs. H. C. Laundy and Mrs. D. Colquhoun in charge of the four divisions. Those serving included Mesdames T. Dorland, A. MacDonald, M. Lemon, R.
