Page ee SAFETY FIRST DURING HUNTING SEASON The hunting season is nearly upon us and a few cautions are in order, Every so often someone is killed or seriously injured by the discharge of a firearm and too often we hear the plea: " I didn't know it was loaded", When a firearm is being used for hunting every precaution should be taken by the user who should check to be certain of the condition of the weapon. It is a well known fact that a hunter should wear brightly coloured clothes-- yet too often this is overlooked, ; And never, under any circumstances, should anyone fire blindly into a clump of bushes, too many people are killed by just such negligence, Now a word about the use of firearms in the immediate vacinity of Terrace Bay. We understand that a regulation will be posted shortly making it illegal to dis- charge a firearm anywhere within a radius of 2 miles from the Terrace Bay Post Office. We feel certain that everyone will appreciate the necessity for this regulation and will co-operate with the authorities to see that it is enforced, REMEMBER WHEN HUNTING - THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR SAFATY ge.
