Page Two We Hope for the Best - continued Dave Vance, General Manager of North American Buildings Limited (the firm respons- ible for building our houses at Terrace Bay), is well known to many of us in the LongLac organization, Dave was on his way from Winnipeg to British Columbia to expedite material for our 1947 house-building program, A week has now passed since the plane vanished and aceording to latest reports, little hope is held. To those business associates, friends and relatives, who with us await news, we can only say that we too share your anxiety, During the past ten days, six men from the LongLae Telephone Company have been busy working on the 105+line switchboard which will be required to carry the telephone load at Terrace Bay during the construction peried. Twentyesix pairs of cable will be strung to the Townsite and sixteen pairs to the Millsite. It's quite a ehore when you stop to consider that, in all, the boys will string more than 9,000 feet of cable to accomplish their objec- tive. The telephone crew consists of the following LongLac Telephone Company employees: R.J.Gibbs, Superintendent; R.Palmer, Foreman; C,A.Connolly; Don Harkness; Don Edmonds and George Adams. -o0o- CAMP NAMES We have now been advised that since the last issue of Terrace Bay News, it has been decided to use the terms 'Upper Camp! and 'Lower Camp' when referring to the two Camps which make up the LongLae Projeet, 'Upper Camp! will apply to the eamp at the Millsite, while 'Lower Camp' will apply to the original eamp adjacent to the CsPiRi Main Line. -o0o- Tonight, May 6th: "FOLLIES GIRL", The year's big musical jamboree ef mirth and melody starring Wendy Barrie and a star-studded supporting cast. Music is supplied by four of the nations top bands. Friday & Saturday, May 9th and 10th: "SHE GETS HER MAN". This comedy detective story stars Joan Davis and William Gargan in a madcap adventure which makes even Dick Tracyor 'Fear-- less! Fosdick look like amateurs. Monday & Tuesday, : May 12th and 13th: "THREE IS A FAMILY", Starring such old favourites as Marjorie Reynolds, Charlie Ruggles and Fay Bainter, is the story of a careless Stork. It is amusing entertainment. -o0o- HOUSE SIXTEEN By Dolores Humby It seems to me that it's high time for the gals in House 16 to cough up with some of that news; one would think that nothing ever happened there but you'd be surprised - - or would you? Anyway, to say the least, they haven't even got a number on the house but everyone seems to know where it is and also what goes on inside, the latter being due to a lack of living-room curtains which we hope to have remedied shortly. In fact there was so much excitement within the past few days that the girls were obliged to write up a few rules in order to calm things down a bit. Between going to Schreiber, minding children, hiking and drinking coffee, the girls have to squeeze time out to write a few letters, do their washing and get a bit of rest. I'm afraid, sometimes, the rest isn't long enough and the next morning foretells some predominant characteristics on some of the faces. However, some bags aren't heavy and rings aren't always worn on fingers -- so who cares!
