Photos by Darren MacDonald by Darren MacDonald Staff The Terrace Bay Communi- ty Church celebrated its 41st anniversary last Sunday night with a potluck supper and dis- plays illustrating the church's history. The church, which boasts :: congregation of 180 families, traces its roots back to the late 1940s, when the mill first opened in Terrace Bay. United Church members - originally held services in the men's dining hall, in the build- ing that today is home to the Moose Lodge. But as the houses were built and Terrace Bay became set- tled, the employee's wives began arriving to join their husbands in the new communi- ty. The congregation quickly outgrew the dining hall, and the need for their own building became apparent. continued on page 15 fens, TRAVEL | BSI: Airline ticketing and all "m pees hotels world wide 824-3418 Joe Mykietyn (Agent) The Laprade Travel Shop Ltd.
