And this in a province ruled by the right of right wing Social Credit party for the last couple of decades. Although his gov- emment fumbled a bit during the referendum campaign--a lot, actually--it still holds a lot of promise. What these three politicians have in common is that they refuse to fit into the stagnant mold traditionally associated with their respective parties. And when they're on televi- sion, you get the impression they're saying what they real- ly think, not what some media advisor has told them they should say. Many Canadians may vote Liberal, NDP or Reform in the next election because it's a vote against Brian Mulroney. How much better it would be if we had a chance to vote for someone we liked, for some- one who we could trust to lead us somewhere. Martha was born in Port Arthur and lived most of her life in Nipigon where she worked for the Eaton's '| Catalogue Store, retiring after many years of service. Her family and church were her main interests and she was a long time member of St. Mary's A.C.W. Predeceased by her parents - Hilja and William Koski, by one brother Toivo Koski, and by one sister Wilma Ross; she is survived by her husband Grant, by three sons - Barry (& Sharyn) of Schreiber, Ontario, William Sr. and Curt (& wife Yvonne) both of Nipigon, Ontario. She was the loving and proud grandmother of Kathy (Mrs. Toivo) Hirt of Terrace Bay, Ontario, William Jr, and Charlene (Mrs. Maurice) Shallow of Springfield, Illinois, and Cyndi Willan of Nipigon and of great grandson Taylor Hirt. She is also survived by one brother Reino Koski of Thunder Bay, Ontario, by three sisters - Helmi Lane, Laura Shortreed and Taimi (Mrs. Kauko) Hahka all of Thunder Bay, by cousins - Kay Merrin of Vancouver, B.C. and Albert Westerlund of Nipigon. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Funeral services, handled by the Elliott Funeral Home Ltd., Nipigon were held on. Monday, November 9, 1992 at 11 A.M. at St. Mary's Anglican Church in Nipigon with Rev. R. Inshaw of Thunder Bay officiating. Cremation and interment of cremains followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Thunder Bay. Pallbearers were: William Willan Jr., Christopher Willan, Maurice Shallow, Mel Backen, John Coupland, John Tinnes. In lieu of flowers, donations were made to the charity of your choice.
