MacKenzie, who's currently the Vice-principal at LSHS, was appointed during the Board's regular meeting in Marathon Dec. 10. The appointment is tempo- rary, and takes effect Jan. 1. The Board will select a perma- nent replacement next fall. A replacement for MacKen-. zie will be made at a later date. MacKenzie replaces outgo- ing principal Balan Menon, whose probationary contract was not made permanent by the board. Menon has filed a grievance as a result of that decision. Winter driving tips Thousands of Ontario motorists will be travelling greater distances during the Christmas-New Year's period, as they visit family and friends.
