That should help their public Image and boost their righ- teous egos. Without taxes, people can stop cheating on their annual tax returns, and hopefully that will be a step in the right direction also re any other kinds of cheating, steal- ing and other such criminali- ties. (But I wouldn't hold my breath!) All this sounds crazy? Just wait till the next installment of the K.P.K. Konstitution and Planks. It gets crazier. Or saner. Depending on your out- look. In the meantime, Kitchen People of Kanada, get together and unite! We have nothing to lose 'cause we've already got ALL the kitchen sinks! Excellence in education Continued from page 2 There lies the crux of the matter. If parents want their children to excel at anything, parents themselves must develop in their children this single-minded passion to excel, and they must set the example by their own actions and their own way of life. Being parents is-no easy task. They have to suffer much, sacrifice much, and struggle much. Out of their struggle and suffering comes that wisdom of life that places education and excellence at the core of their ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT BOARD pa IN THE MATTER OF the Environmental Assessment Act, R.S.O. 1980, c.140, as amended, and the regula- tions thereunder; --and-- IN THE MATTER OF an Undertaking by Ontario Hydro consisting of a Program in respect of activities Sato associated with meeting future electricity requirements in Ontario. But they also know that excellence is not something that comes to those who merely wish it. It is something that must be grasped and taken by those who are driven by the passion to excel, by the aspiration, and above all by perseverance and hard work. As Plato said two thousand years ago: Badness you can get easily, in quantity; the road is smooth, and it lies close by. But in front of excellence the immortal gods have put sweat, and long and steep is the way to it, and rough at first. but when you come to the top, then it is easy, even though it is hard. Parental expectations of excellence are thus at the foundation of their children's success. At first it seems hard, this constant nagging and NOTICE TO CREDI- TORS AND OTHERS All claims against the Estate of MARY RITA CORRIGAN, late of the City of Sault Ste. These young people see their peers seemingly enjoying an endless amount of fun, going to parties, and doing things that are denied to them by their parents. It seems as if they were missing out on a lot of fun. That's hard on them, this demand for discipline and excellence. But years from now they are bound to realize that their parent knew, by the infinite wisdom of experience, that too much too soon would ultimately turn out to be no fun. There is no failure worse than moral failure, for that is the failure of the soul, the very core of one's being. As the Bible says, of what worth is it if one gains the whole world but loses one's soul? But one final point must be emphasized. True excellence is not necessarily what you attain, It is what you aim at. After all, if our aims lack nobility what will we achieve? Besides, it does not really matter whether you fully achieve your aim. As the poet Robert Browning said, "Ah, but a man's reach should exceed his grasp, Or what's a heaven for?"
