As a young man in Harvest time cooking with glass Autumn...the harvest season of good eating. Whether from garden or orchard, nothing beats fresh fruits and vegetables for flavor and nutrition. To maintain that flavor and nutrition during cooking, you can't beat glass. That's what made Pyrex glass cook- ware an almost instant success when it was introduced 75 years ago...and why it's still popular today. It won't react with foods to alter either taste or color. It cleans out thoroughly, so flavors and odors won't carry over from one meal to the next. Leftovers? Leave them in the glass dish they were cooked in, cover and refrigerate. To reheat, just pop them back in the oven. Today's microwave oven just expands glass cookware's versatility. To help recall those "good ol' days," here are two cooked-in-glass recipes from Corning's archives. They're sure to be as tasty today as they were then. To help you taste the veggies quicker, we've modified the recipe to take advantage of today's microwave oven.
