Ski report hotline The Ontario Ministry of Tourism and Recreation, in coop- eration with the Ontario Ski Resorts Association, is once again providing daily information on ski conditions throughout the province. The alpine and cross-country ski reports are available 24-hours a day and provide accurate, detailed information on snow sur- face conditions, weather, lifts, slopes and operating trails. "It is important for skiers to know what kind of conditions they can expect before they leave for the slopes," Ontario Minister of Tourism and Recreation Ken Black said. "By taking advantage of the Ontario Ski Reporting Program, they will have a greater opportu- nity to enjoy the tremendous ski facilities throughout the province."* The alpine information line is (416) 963-2992. The cross-coun- try information line is (416) 963- 2911. The taped report is avail- able to the public beginning at 7 a.m. and is updated daily at 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. Skiers can receive more detailed information by calling Ontario travel counsellors toll- free at 1-800-ONTARIO (1-800- 668-2746) between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The same service is available in French by calling toll-free at 1- 800-268-3736. Skiing continues to be the most popular winter recreational activity in Ontario. 'with 3.2: mil-
