This program is held on Monday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Fitness for Men We are taking names for any- one interested in a Fitness Program for men. This program will teach the participant how to choose a camera, camera care, characteristics of light, lenses and filters, exposure and flash pho- tography. Teens Talking to Teens This group was recently formed in Manitouwadge. They are presently organizing a Conference for Teens in Northwestern Ontario, scheduled for the weekend of February 23, 1990. Participants will learn the basics of skating for- ward, skating backwards, stop- ping and standing up. For more information please call the Recreation Office at 825-3542. Power Skating The skater will learn tech- niques to improve forward and backwards. skating, _ stride, crossovers, balance and stopping. Oct. 11 - Knitting - Multi Purpose Room - 7:00 p.m. Schreiber rec news Paper Tole A Beginner's Paper Tole course is being held at the Schreiber High School on Saturday, October 14. Paper Tole is the art of a 3-dimensional pic- -- tute by cutting and layering the paper to create this effect. All kits will be supplied. For more infor- mation on this course you can contact Betty Tate at 824-2723, Myra Smilsky at 824-2747 or Darlene Noble at 825-9261 after 6:00 p.m. Mixed Volleyball Mixed Volleyball has begun at the Schreiber High School. Drop by any. Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. and join in on the fun. This is a non-competitive game and is open to anyone. For more infor- mation contact the recreation office at 824-2317. Badminton Beginning Monday, October 16 between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. you can drop into the Schreiber High School for a game of badminton. This is recre- alional badminton and is open to anyone interested. Games will be played every Monday evening. Gymnastics The recreation department is still accepting names for those interested in gymnastics. We hope to eventually form our own club and in order to accomplish this we must have volunteers in order to organize the club. The program will be run out of the Terrace Bay High School each Monday and Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. If you are inter- ested in registering for the pro- gram or voluntcering your time please contact the recreation office at 824-2317. Power Skate Clinic The recreation department will be holding a Power Skating Clinic beginning Monday, October 16. Classes will be held through to Thursday for the fol- lowing categories: 7 to 9 years - 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., 10 to 12 years - 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. and 13 and over 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. This program is open to both boys and girls. Participants are asked to wear the equipment of the sport they par- ticipate in. To register contact the recreation office at 824-2317. Future Programs The Recreation Department would like to offer the following courses if enough interest is shown.
