This tax was to be a temporary tax as an amendment to the Excise Tax Act and in 1988 became the Telecommunications Service Tax. Since most T.V. reception in Northern Ontario is brought in by satellite, it means that cable opera- tors must pass on new program ser- vice charges to customers, thus increasing the federal and provin- result in a federal/provincial tax levy of $2.38. Thank you My heartfelt thanks to my children, grandchildren and family members for coming to spend your holidays with me this summer. Some may talk about wetland conservation to save our continent's waterfowl, but Ducks Unlimited Canada is out there in the midst of the challenges making it happen. We're the organization equipped to handle the job, and we're always eager to join others prepared to get into appropriate gear. We've counted 306 species of birds and 73 species of land mammals that depend on healthy wetland environments in Canada for their survival. A host of other plants and animals can definitely be added to that list. So can humans. Try our boots on for size. Wade into the waters with us. A special thanks to Judi for travelling from Australia to be with us.
