This involved swimming 460 lengths of the Terrace Bay pool which works out 'o a distance of 11,500 m - the distance from the Terrace Bay beach to the Slate Islands. Above, Ernie Kettle, Recreation Chairman, presented Irene Kettle, Roz Kenny, Paula Sitko, Rhea Beaulieu, Keli Turpin, Jody Speer, and Khris Turpin with their certificates. Absent from the picture were Maureen Running, Nancy McWatters, Michelle Gilbert, Sheila Cassie, Margy Fulton, Shannon Moore, Bill McDougall, Shane Jowitt and Sandra McDougall. Congratulations swimmers. Photo by Dave Chmara Criminal Court Report Criminal Court-was held on Wednesday, August 23, 1989, at 10:30 a.m. The following convictions were registered. Victor J. Berzins of Barrie, Ontario, pled guilty to an Impaired Driving charge. He was fined $300 and given a one ycar licence suspension. At the time he was found to be driving while impaired - he was also under sus- . pension from driving. He was given a $253.75 fine for driving while under suspension. Wendy Fricdrich of Terrace Bay was fined $600 and her licence was suspended for one year after she pled guilty to Impaired Driving. Alfred Gosselin, Jr., of Terrace Bay pled guilty to Assault Police. He was given a $1,000 fine and placed on probation for one year. John Graham of Schreiber pled guilty to two charges of Breach of Probation. He was given a one year suspended sen- tence and placed on probation for one year. A discretionary Bench Warrant was issued for Peter Gutta of Schreiber. James R. Mikus of Schreiber pled guilly to a charge of impaired driving. He was given a $600 fine and a one year licence suspension. A Bench Warrant was issucd for Gary Salesse of Terrace Bay.
