Judge S. Kurisko sentenced Comeau to 180 days imprison- ment on June 6, 1989. The inves- tigation stemming from the 28th of November, 1988, was conduct- ed by members of. the Schreiber OPP. detachment. Comeau was arrested for Trafficking a Narcotic on that day and found to be carrying approxi- mately four grams of cocaine and a large sum of money totalling approximately $3,700. A search of the Comeau resi- dence was carried out which also revealed other items for court use. On March 8, 1989, a prelimi- nary hearing was held at Schreiber's Legion Hall. money which was seized from Comeau will be retained by the government. Police say they hope that this will be a deterrent to drug pushers and also make citizens aware of the drugs that are available in town. ah Oh My!!! The Recreation Facilities Program grant was announced June 1 by Ontario Minister of Tourism and Recreation Hugh O'Neil. The grant will cover 50 per cent of the costs involved in building the new clubhouse with the remaining money to be raised locally.
