Discussed were the areas in the Terrace Bay district that K.C. will cut over the next five years. The proposed zoning by-law amendment would change the zone category of 88.23 hectares of land east of the Kimberly-Clark of Canada Limited pulp mill from "A" (Rural) to "MP" (Paper Products Industrial) to permit the construction of an acrated lagoon to provide secondary treatment of effluent from the pulp mill. ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in iat aes to the proposed zoning by-law amendment. Roy Teniuk presented a progress report on his waterskiing trip across Lake Supcrior which will be used to raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy. Teniuk requested that council hire a student to assist with the promotion. May 16, there will be a door- to-door blitz to get pledges and donations. The ski will start at the light house at Copper Harbor, Michigan and will end at the Terrace Bay beach - a run of 177 km. There are 16 volunteer Fire Departments already involved to help raise money for MD. Council has loaned the lotal Fire Department $2,000 for the Water Ski Project all of which will be paid back, interest free, by September 30, 1989. This money will provide a working capital to buy such items as hats, buttons, T-shirts and sweatshirts. The town council also received a Thank You for their donation to the North Shore Community Band, which was in the amount of $5,000. --« The EMO will be holding a meeting in Thunder Bay in regard Winnie' By Winnie Campbell The members of the Schreiber Chimo Club met on Friday, April 21 for their monthly meeting with a good turnout. Ken Davis, president, was in the chair and was welcomed back after his holiday. The meeting opened with a minute's silence in respect to the memory of Past President Mr. Tom whent and Mrs. Lillian Gagnon. The minutes of the previous to the Dryden plane crash. Russ Phillips and Louis Maltais will be making a presentation. Constable Gary Callaghan will attend this meeting on May 24 at the expense of the municipality. May 24 to 31 is the week announced by Kimberly-Clark for their annual maintenance shut- down. Sam Cloutier resigned from his position with the town's pub- lic works department. s Notes meeting were read by the secre- tary, Mrs. Helen Jartus and were approved as read. The financial report was given by Mr. Pat Guina, treasurer and were approved as read. There was one Home Bingo winner for April - Mrs. Winnie Campbell. May Bingo cards are now available for May 1. Mrs. Eva Gordon gave her card secretary's report having sent numerous get well and sympathy cards to members.
