Gymnastics The gymnastics program has tentatively been scheduled to begin the week of April 24th. Before the program begins we will be holding a public meeting to discuss the organization of the club, setting 'up of times and the various age groups. We will be conducting this public meeting as soon as we have obtained the available hours for the gymnasi- um. Watch future issues of the Rec News for the date of the meeting. The amendment involves the construction of 5.9 kilometres of primary road in the Barehead Lake area, 2.2 kilometres of secondary road in the Osawin River area and timber harvesting (197 hectares) in the Little Black River area. The proposed amendments will be available for' public inspection at the Ministry of Natural Resources Manitouwadge Work Centre office on Manitou Road East until May 28, 1989. The amendments involve the construction of 10.2 kilometres of secondary road in the Aralia Lake area, 3.1 kilometres of secondary road in the Sandspit Lake area and timber harvesting (337 hectares) in the Catlonite Creek area. Classes began Tuesday March 21st and run from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Spring and Summer Programs All organizations requiring recreation facilities on a regular or special event basis are remind- ed to get their requests into the recreation office as early as possi- ble or you may find the facilities are not available when you require them. Upcomin ial Events Rolling Thunder - is a play being sponsored by the local recreation department and the Ministry of Tourism and Recreation. It will be held at the High School gym on Tuesday, June 13th in the afternoon. This play is aimed at children from grade 3 and up as well as adults. It will be offered to the public free of charge. Board Sailing - the Ontario Sailing Association will be con- ducting a Board Sailing Clinic at White Sand Beach on July Sth. No experience is necessary and they will supply all the equip- ment. Classes will be held in the -morning, afternoon and evening. There will be a limit of 12 per- sons in each class. For more information contact the recreation office. Sailing Program - the recre- ation department will be offering a small craft sailing program for children ages 10 to14 years. This is being offered as a free course through the BOON Program. All equipment and boats will be pro- vided free of charge. Final dates have not yet been confirmed. For more information contact the recreation office. The recreation department will be co-sponsoring two plays with the Library and the local school boards this spring. One titled Thin Ice and the other Not so Dumb. Thin Ice will be held at 10:00 a.m. in the High School gym on Tuesday, May 16. This play is geared for High School geared -|. students. Not So Dumb will also play Tuesday, May 16, at 2:00 p.m. Both plays will be performed by LA Zarwessc Thante
