Huggies update Along with the talented Chris More Rink returning from Winnipeg in an attempt to repeat their championship performance the Terrace Bay Curling Club will also welcome the 1988 Canadian Junior Ladies Champion LaDawn Funk Rink from Edmonton Alberta. This excellent team will go on to the represent Canada in the World Champions in March of 1989. Fortunately for spectators in Terrace Bay and area the Junior Champs along with their coach will be here Thursday, November 24 to challenge an experienced team of male curlers from our- own Club lead by that seasoned "Battle of the Sexes" skip Rick Hamilton. There are still some openings for teams in this November 25,26,27 event. If you can't curl, please come out and support this annual event. The curling club will be open for spectators as well as the room at the other end of the ice for your viewing convenience. Contact Delena Lavigne at 825- 33-69 for further information. Thompson - Funeral services for the late Mr. Douglas Thompson age 73 years of Terrace Bay passed away on October 31, 1988 were held on Thursday, November 3rd at 2 p.m. from the Terrace Bay Community Church. Interment Terrace Bay Cemetary. Mr. Thompson worked for Kimberly -Clark retiring in 1979 and was a member of the Moose Lodge. Survived by his wife Thursa, daughter Carolyn (Mrs. P. Fretz) of Belleville; son Rod of Terrace Bay; grandchildren Kevin and Tracey Fretz, Mark and Anne-Marie Thompson. Also survived by brother Ralph and sisters Marion and Shirley. Predeceased by son-in-infancy; brother' Earl and sister Jean. Pallbearers were George Robinson, Steve Brend, Walter Sitko, Rod Bryson, Kirk Fischer and Thane Walton. Attending from out of town was Fred Bourret of Thunder Bay.
