It would basically help the unemployed become employed; unemployed who are - either on unemployment insur- ance or on welfare. There is funding available for this and the person must stick with the program for one year. *The second option is the business development centre. An office could be opened in town and its three major objec- tives would be to increase busi- ness, maintain present business and to offer business loans, *A third option is the training option. Businesses in town could purchase either training or people in that area to help their employ- ees become more valuable. *The fourth is the re-location assistance option. Persons who have been laid off or who are unemployed receive assistance to seek work elsewhere. Assistance would pay for the costs of interviews and relocating, for example. *The fifth is the community initiatives find; the money in this option is controlled by the minis- ter and not all that easy to access, said Dickson. Money from this has in the past been used for things like marina projects, mini malls and hospital extensions.
