Mixed Volleyball The recreation department has, as of Jan. 14, not received enough names to organize this event. We will keep trying to get a mixed volleyball league started. National Coaching Certification Level 1- Theory Coaching Clinic The Schreiber Recreation Department will be sponsoring a Level 1 Theory Coaching Clinic from January 22 to the 24th, 1988. The N.C.C.P. is the 'coaching of coaches' program. It is an edu- cational learning program open to all coaches and is designed to make the reward of coaching that much better. Born in Schreiber on December 18, 1930, he was the son of Fleurette Mc Bride and the late Russell McBride. He started work at age 16 for C.P.R. in the car depart- ment & started firing in 1950 and promoted to engineer in 1953. He was a member of the Fort William Prosvita Society. He married Lil MacLeod in 1964. Predeceased by his father in 1963 & a sister Toots in 1973. Survived by his wife Lil, daugh- ters Judy of Thunder, Bay, Christina Davidson of Spencerville, Ontario, sons David of Ottawa, & Bruce of Schreiber. & grandchildren Morgan & Autumn Davidson, Dallas & Andrea MacLeod & Jessica MacLeod. Brothers Lorne of Terrace Bay, sisters Toady Hass of Hamilton, Mima Duggan & Babe Spikula of Schreiber. Also Aunts and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral mass was held on Friday January 22, at 11 a.m. from Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church. Cremation fol- lowed. It will begin on Wednesday, January 27 at 7 p.m. at the high school, The recreation office is still taking registration. Tae Kwon Do Due to the great response of this program, Joe has agreed to run a club out of Schreiber. Instruction will be held each Tuesday and Wednesday from 8- 9 p.m. at the rec complex until the end of July 1988. This is a very exciting sport and is open to anyone ages 10 and up. To register please come to the centre on Tuesday, January 5, at 8 p.m. or come the complex on Tuesday or Wednesday evening to talk to Joe. First Aid Course The recreation department has been approached to organize a First Aid Course. Anyone inter- ested in taking this course should contact the office at 2317. Learn to skate The recreation department will run a second Learn to Skate ses- sion under the instruction of Anne Miller. Classes are on Monday and Thursdays from 10- 11 a.m. and from 1:30-2:30 p.m. and is open to all ages. This session concludes on Thursday, February 25.
