Page 6, Terrace Bay-Schreiber News, Wednesday, November 25, 1987 This show photography with feeling from page 1 Hewson noted that up until now, people have known her pho- tographs to center on scenes only, but now she is getting into captur- ing ice scenes, flowers and close- up shots to name a few. Hewson's style has now expanded to not only shoot land- scapes and wedding shots, but also this more creative style of photography. Hewson said she is doing more close-up shots now that also add a more modern quality. These types of shots fit in with modern decor- "not just a plain old picture," she said. Another facet of Hewson's work is what type of mat best suits the photograph. "Mats are really important," said Hewson. "They help to express the feeling in the picture." The mats can either help the shot look cold, for that effect, or look warm, if that's what's want- ed. "The colour of the mats bring out different feelings," Hewson said. Hewson takes pictures all the time. One of the most important things she looks for when shoot- ing is what the colour of the day is. The different lighting of the day sets the mood of the picture and that is Hewson's key for tak- ing photographs. "It's all in the lighting. That's what motivates me." Hewson made a point to men- tion that none of her work to this point includes the use of artificial light or filters. She hopes to see her friends and fellow citizens at her show. Again, her Christmas show is at her home at White Sand Lake. Hewson and her husband Chris built what you will see there from what was once just a cabin in the woods. The home is made out of natu- ral woods and includes a heated whirlpool and circular stairs to the master bedroom.
