Birch Magic Photography is owned and operated by Hewson at White Sand Lake near Schreiber. Hewson's work captures the rugged beauty of the wilderness with a warmth and skill that indi- cates devotion to her art and an intimacy with her subjects. _ After you've seen her work, you'll never perceive rocks, trees and water in quite the same way again. You can see all of ker work, and her beautiful home, together, on Dec. 13 at her show entitled "Photography with Feeling". Hewson is holding yet another Logo Winner show but this time with a twist. The show will be in her gorgeous home at White Sand Lake. Talented photographer Hewson has been taking pic- tures for many years now. Her art is now celebrating its fourth year as a bona fide business. Ten years ago, Hewson began her photographic career by taking a photography course as a pas- time. She has been now selling her work since 1981. Hewson grew up in Schreiber and went to college in Thunder Bay. She has lived Manitouwadge and Terrace Bay but now resides with her husband Chris at White Sand Lake. A desire to share her love of nature and experiences finds Hewson photographing unusual scenes that capture many different emotions. Her heart truly belongs to the Terrace Bay Recreation Director Dean Main, right, is shown with Wade Papineau, winner of the Terrace Bay Minor Hockey's Logo Drawing Contest (his winning entry can be seen in the photo). Expanding skill Up until just recently, Hewson photographed mainly scenic shots but she is now expanding into a more creative and wider choice of photographs. Her show, on Sunday, December 13, from 1-4 p.m., will be proof positive of that change. Hewson is tying in the natural beauty of her home with the beauty of her photographs at her show. Hewson said that because she has lived in the country for the last five years, she has "devel- oped a sensitive and creative approach to photography. "The show will illustrate pho- tographs with feeling- a creative approach," she said. see page 6 Right on!
