Residents of unorganized area S By Ken Lusk The News The topic of the Lake Superior Board of Education's tax increase came up for discussion again at the Nov. 9th Terrace Bay Council meet- ing. Clerk-Treasurer Administrator (CTA) Dave Fulton, told council that the residents are upset by the whole process. George Ramsay (now reeve) made the point that none of this money was levied by the township; it is all school board taxes. Fulton said the main complaint is that there was an increase without representation. He said the four township clerks (Terrace Bay, Schreiber, Marathon and Manitouwadge) were not step- ping out of their jurisdiction by attaching the unorganized areas to the municipalities for the purpose of the tax levy.
