God cancels death. Schreiber Recreation Department News Tae Kwon Do The recreation department will be offering a 10-week beginner instruction course from Oct. 6 to Dec. 7. Classes will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 8-9 p.m. The instructor will be Black Belt holder Joe Thipphawong of the Marathon Tae Kwon Do Club. This course will be available to males and females 10 years-of-age and older. The deadline for registration will be 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2. There is limited space so register now. Aerobics The fall session wil commence on Tuesday, Sept. 29. Classes wll be held Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30-2:30 p.m. and from 7:30-8:30 p.m. There has been considerable interest in low-impact aerobics so when registering please specify which form of aerobics you are interested in. Afternon Art Sessions An interest has been shown in Starting an afternoon art club. This would be open to anyone wishing to get together with other artists to work on their projects or to share ideas and techniques. If enough interest is shown arrangements can be made for some instruction. If you are interested please contact the recreation office at 824-2317. Fall Programs ' Anyone who has an idea or wishes to see a specific program offered please contact the recreation office. We will advertise any program and offer any course where sufficient interest is. shown. Olympic Torch Relay The Olympic Torch will be in Schreiber on Monday, January 11, 1988. The township wishes to make this a memorable event. We would like to form a committee to organize a number of special events to help celebrate this momentous occasion. A number of events are already being planned by the township; however, in order to make this a community event the township would like all groups or associations to become involved. An information meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the Art Room of the recreation complex. Any group or individual that is interested in becoming involved in the 1988 Winter Olympics should attend this meeting. The purpose is strictly to share ideas and to inform all interested groups of what materials and resources are available to them and how they can become involved. Coach- an individual who has devoted his or her time to he encouragement of fair play and sportsmanship and for ringing out the best in the athletes under his or her guidance; 4. Official- an individual for devoting his or her time to the romotion of fair play and sportsmanship; 5. Sponsor- a business that has contributed monetarily, or vith services in kind, toward the development of amateur sport n.our community. Celebration '88 certificates will be awarded to those who leserve recognition for their unselfish contributions to our ommunity.
