Paul Rochon and Garnet Pinkerton were the couple of ' underagers who made up the Cribbage Group - we thank them. Liz MacKay would like to thank the Terrace Bay recreation staff for their help in set up and clean up, the Schreiber crowd for swelling the numbers, Ernie Kettle for keeping score in crib, and Sylvia from Birchwood Terrace who caddied the tourna- ment, served refreshments and cookies. Lastly, thanks to the July Ist Committee for sponsoring the évent. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we look forward to next year; =Teen Dance Dance Co-ordinator Chris Joubert said the dance went very well. Joubert is planning to have another teen dance next month; The first-annual baby pageant- was held on June 29 with 47 babies entered. They ranged in age from birth to 18 months. Prince- T.J. Long (16 and-a- half months) Princess- Courtney Gerlach (16 months) Youngest baby- Shane Maycock (5 weeks) Smallest baby- Cocy Fraser (6 weeks) Tallest baby- Anthony Collins (17 months) Baby with least or no hair- Callan Zborowski (8 months) Baby with most or longest hair- Natasha Holman (16 Bits and Bites By Helene Ballard Our weather has not been very good this past week so we have been unable to have any outdoor activities. We did have a few ladies to play cards which helped pass an afternoon for our resi- dents and we thank them for their kindness. Our garden in back of the home is looking pretty good thanks to Cliff and Wallis Barker. They seem to have a green thumb. We have had radishes from the garden and they tasted good. I suppose some of you folks are already busy with projects for the fall fair. I know we are busy in the craftroom- we hope to have a nice display for the fair. I guess these-nasty days are here to help us do this kind of work, so you see there is some good in everything. We had a nice surprise this past week when our former cooks' here came to see us- Gertie Pinot and her husband Len. It was nice TOWNE CINEMA fora great night out and the best in new theatre releases 825-3771 THE LOBBY who knows movies better VHS & Beta rentals 825-9281 | to see them. They both look well, and they like it in their new home. We had our monthly birthday party on the 16th hosted by the home. As usual we had a good time. After cake and ice cream we all played Bingo. Our residents always enjoy themselves playing Bingo. Our thanks to the staff and to ay Update months); $1,000 Jackpot- Janice Martin; -Mixed Tournament One of the co-ordinators of the tourney, Jack Chapman, said that many prizes were awarded- he said about one-third of all the people who participated received prizes. There were 14 groups playing and two people from each group received prizes. The tourney was a 2-ball, 6'ums format. The games were set up in a way that every hole might have had a different rule to win- hi, low or middle; -D.A.G.Draw The winner of the His 'n Her's Sweaters raffled by the Disability Action Group (D.A.G.} was Don Gallagher of Terrace Bay. Our "Birthday kids" were Wallis Barker, Anne Rybak, Erik Kari, George Culverhouse and Michael Geavota. Schreiber Library News Things are warming up for an interesting summer at the Schreiber Public Library. We are pleased to announce the hiring of summer staff, Jodie Saarinen! On staff for the sum- mer, Jodie will be running a sum- mer fun program for 5-10 year- olds... hope young readers (and listeners) will join her on WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON from 2-3 p.m. The summer GOBBLE IT UP! theme is to enjoy games, films and stories.
