The course runs Fri- day evening, 7 to 10 and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 noon and | to 4. Deadline for registrations is. February 21. For more in- formation or to register, contact the recreation of- fice at 824-2317. Winter Carnival Plans for the 1986 Winter Carnival are well underway. It appears that the Centennial spirit is still with us as a large number of groups attended» the planning meeting. The Carnival will be held from March,7 to March 16. A wide variety of ac- tivities have already been planned, and will.soon be finalized. It really does ap- pear that this year's Winter Carnival is going to be a great one, so plan to attend. Childrens' Craft Courses The Recreation Depart- ment is pleased to offer Touch A_ unique form of heal- ing will be introduced to in- terested people in Terrace Bay on Monday, February 24, as Sue Langer of ' Thunder. Bay will be in town to conduct a one-day seminar on the Therapeutic Touch. According to organizer Peter Vanderkam, the Therapeutic Touch is a form of healing which deals with the energy field that surrounds each person. under the instruction of Donna Mikeluk, two Childrens' Craft Courses. The first is an afternoon session taking place on March 15 from 1:30 to 4 in the Art Room of the Com- plex. A-variety. of mini pro- jects such as stitch and stuff and cut and paste will enable the child to com- plete several small crafts. The course is open to children ages 6 to 11. The second Craft Course will be a five week session. Beginning on April 7, run- ning each Monday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 to May 5. Again this course is open to children ages 6 to 11. A variety of mini projects such as nature craft, weav- ing and painting will enable the child to complete several small crafts each week. Registration is limited ~ for both of these courses so if you are interested or re- quire more information contact the recreation of- fice at 824-2317. Upcoming Arena Events The Schreiber Arena has taught The class will take place downstairs at Birchwood Terrace, starting at 9 a.m. and running until comple- tion that day.
