Here we are over halfway through January, so I guess we can take heart as spring is on the way. We had a very enjoyable afternoon on Jan. 16 when the ladies and the Pastor from Pentecostal Assembly Church hosted the monthly residents' birthday party. After the usual coffee and Peter Monks, president of the Multi-Cultural Society in Terrace Bay, and our Joann LeBlanc put their heads together, and as Peter is an excellent cook, they made the special dishes for,an evening din- ner with four of our residents plus family and friends in a group of 12 . who sat down to the following: Kootya (wheat, honey and poppy seeds), Kolach (braided wreath of special bread), fish, mushrooms, resident, Ann Ryback and her family, Mr. and Mrs. Bouterlier, Mr. and Mrs. Gusel, and Mr. and Mrs. Robichon, friends of Bir- chwood residents, also attended.
