During the after- noon, resident Susan Gaulin made the draw for the baby bear quilt, made and donated by Estelle Wallwin. The lucky winner was John Mathews, also a resi- dent. Schreiber Library news This is the first of what we hope will be a fairly regular informa- tion column about your library. It's easy to for- get a library if you're not a constant visitor. In fact, some people forget the library for years un- til they find an old book stamped "Schreiber Public Library" in the corner of the closet. If you find one of these, please bring it back. We're having an am- nesty until January 30, 1984. That means no fines, no dirty looks, no lectures. Bring them in and we'll say thank you. The person you'll meet at the library desk is Billie Anne Saari- nen. She is our regular librarian. Her job is to help you find books you might want, order films, sign books out and be one of your links with the library board. You'll find Mrs. - Saarinen friendly and very help- ful. If there's some- thing you've been want- ing to read, come in and see her or phone the library and she'll do her best to get it for you. Perhaps you've been -wondering who is on your library board and what we do. We are a five member board. Our present chairman is Norah McGuire. Gwen Hadley is the Secretary- Treasurer and the other members of the board are. Gwen Bongard, Betty Ann Klassen and Pam McKeever. Our job is to give you the library service you want. Call us if you have any sug- gestions which might improve the library. We've been working on some small changes at our board meetings. 1) Our check-out sys- tem has been somewhat cumbersome for the li- brarian. The board ag- reed that if library users were able to, they should complete their own card, listing the titles they were taking home. We'll provide the cards; you write your own reminder. 2) We'll also be asking you to put your signature on the cards of books you are taking out. We've had some difficulty with . people who deny having checked books out. 3) We're checking into the possibility of opening the library one evening a week, If regulations al- low it, evening hours will probably be Tues- day. The seminars' FIRST, topics will 'cover: Soft Tissue Injuries, Ankle Injuries, Knee Inju- ries, Shoulder Injuries also Elbow, Wrist and Head Injuries. Each seminar will ex- plain the injury signs, symptoms, treatment on both immediate, post and fractures.
