Despite being short of players due to illness and injury, plus not being on skates for 2 weeks, the team com- peted in the annual event against teams from Manitouwadge, Hornepayne, Elliot Lake and White River. The Oldtimers' first game was 9 a.m. Satur- day morning against a determined Manitou- wadge team. The Old- timers played a _ well disciplined, controlled game and came out on top with a 4-2 score. The second game was a2 p.m. Saturday start against Hornepayne. Despite some nagging injuries to some of the players from the first game, Terrace Bay once again displayed good positional play and puck control and went on to another 4-2 victory. Terrace Bay was scheduled to play a third game on Saturday at 5 p.m., however the team decided to forfeit the game to White River, giving them the bye into the finals and forcing us to play off against Hornepayne to get into the final against Whitc River. We took to the icé Sunday at 10 a.m. to face a strong Horne- - payne team. The first period ended 1-1. Ter- race Bay came out flying in the second period and led 4-1 with one period left. In the third period, Hornepayne put on a valiant effort, but were unable to overcome a 3 goal. deficit and Ter- race Bay went on to post a 5-3 victory and earned a berth into the finals against White River. However with the fans behind them, White River roared back to tie the game a few minutes later and the first period ended i-1. Then White River went on the offensive and despite the great efforts of goaltender Bill McDougall, and a gritty defence, White River broke through to take a 2-1 lead into the third period. The Terrace Bay team, tired, but deter- mined, went to the ice for the third period with the White River fans chanting and _ singing "'Good-byes" to the boys from Terrace Bay.
